20th December - The Reckless Engineer,
Temple Mead, Bristol
What an utterly marvellous way to finish 2006. This is the audience that the band caters for and as a result
was forced to play no less than seven encores. They had to stop in the end as it was way past their bed time and had to be
out of the car park by 12 o'clock. Oh what a rock 'n roll life they live.
17th December - The Highwayman, Kingswood,
Bristol
There was alot of Christmas tunes being played
on the Juke Box tonight but that was ok because Goldfish Don't Bounce managed to blow the dust away and put order back into
the world. They also agreed to do a repeat performance of Green Days 'Good Riddance' for Chris because he was upstairs relieving
himself. Apparantly.
15th December - The Brunel, Bedminster,
Bristol
This is cracking pub recently refurbished and huge. The band were treated to a large stage area and the
locals were all friendly enough. Its worth pointing out that kick off is dead on 9 and the last song finished by 11 to
help keep the neighbours happy. Thanks for the beer Mick.
8th December - The Backpackers, Glastonbury,
Somerset
Glastonbury was celebrating its Christmas Festival tonight meaning that the High Street was closed to traffic
and a bit of wrong way one way driving was called for to find the venue. That aside the band were pleasantly surprised by how
friendly people of the mystical town were and look forward to a return visit in the new year.
2nd December - The Farriers Arms,
Fishponds, Bristol
Considering the amount of bands playing in the area tonight the Farriers was packed
to the rafters with a rockin' crowd. The band were please as punch with their new friends, The United Bikers who have adopted
the band as their own. Praise be to the Iron Horse.
25th November - The Blackhorse, Kingswood,
Bristol
The band pulled muscles, yes he was there, got cramps and generally made some hard rockin' sounds ending
with their rendition of Ace Of Spades for Marie the landlady who saw them last night. If only Lemmy was there. He would've
taken notes.
19th November - The Old Tavern, Stapleton,
Bristol
Second time at the Tav' this weekend for Fillet Bones who played last night with Blackfire. Not a bad turnout
tonight considering that it was p**sing down. However, the bands duck fanbase stayed away. See you next time you web
toed freaks..........
11th November - The Bunch Of Grapes,
Central Bristol
Splendid evening's entertainment. Not even Big Time doing the Queen thing down the road
stopped the Bunch being chock full of hard rockin' amigos. Fillet Bones sported his new camouflaged Les Paul but we could
still see and hear it. Also the band was joined by a new mascot who took pride of place on top of Bass Face's amp.
2nd November - The Royal Oak, Chipping
Sodbury, S. Glos
Completely mad. That's what the regular ladies are. We were entertained by some serious
'G' string action, which was not for the faint hearted. But of course they couldn't steal the show from Goldfish Don't Bounce
who rocked in their usual tight formation much to the delight of all.
27th October - The Cat & Wheel,
Cotham, Bristol
Does anyone remember the young lady who "managed to break their Achilles tendon (OUCH)
whilst flinging themselves about" at the bike rally in July? Well, she was back out for th first time since and still on crutches
but we are pleased to say left the gig in one piece this time. That said, a great night tonight with drinking, cheering, clapping,
ham rolls with mustard and offers for gigs at the various bike rallies due next summer. Sweeeet!!!!!!!
22nd October - The Horseshoe, Downend,
Bristol
It's good to see a fair few of you wearing the new T Shirts. Soon the world will be awash with blue
and orange and I can see it soon becoming the new black. As usual, a storming couple of sets were served tonight heavily fuelled
by an enthusiastic crowd.
19th October - Campbells Landing,
Clevedon, N. Somerset
Always a late one at the Landing but always well worth the wait. Great crowd tonight with some of the most
attractive audience we get to see.
8th October - The Highwayman, Kingswood,
Bristol
It's good to see John (Golden Lion, Fishponds fame) back in the mix. The band will
always be grateful as he gave them their first gig and still forgave them. Thankfully he's running a pub with a rocking crowd
and they band played 2 encores and then a further 5 songs until they laid breathless on the floor. See you all soon.......
16th September - The Bunch Of Grapes,
Central Bristol
This was the re-scheduled date from the doubled
booked 2nd September and considering it clashed with The Hatchets 400th year celebrations the band had a huge reception with
plenty of punters sharing their attention between the two pubs. So a special thanks to all of you 'cause you all rock.
15th September - The Barrs Court
Inn, Longwell Green, Bristol
As the lights dimmed and the smoke cleared the band prepared for their performance.
Luckily though someone stepped away from the light and sparked up another fag so all was as before. This venue is what
seems to be a converted barn and with a big screen promising pole dancing classes and big dinners you can't go far wrong.
9th September - The Trout Tavern,
Keynsham, N. Somerset
By now the set was well rehearsed after this afternoons bash and here the new songs
were a huge hit. As usual the pub filled ready for the second set, an afternoon of football saw to that and the crowd
made up for lost time.
9th September (Lunchtime) - United
Bikers Rally, The Railway Tavern, Yate, S. Glos.
A high octane fuelled afternoon with leather waistcoat clad bikers and their machines. This was all in the aid of charity but as that particular charity failed to turn up we won't mention who they are. The band was able to try our new songs, Iron Man, Out In The Fields and Unskinny Bop (Remember, the Poison hit) and a pleasant afternoon was had by all. 27th August - The Old Tavern, Stapleton,
Bristol
Some funky bass playing going on tonight at one of Dairyleas old haunts. Lilly Fat Bass
'Tid made a new friend tonight with promises of appearing on X-Factor. It must be his boyish good looks.
26th August - The Railway Inn, Burnham-on-Sea,
N. Somerset
Special thanks to Steve 'Dairylea' Dunk(ers) for stepping into Bass Faces shoes tonight.
The band delivered two storming sets and a well received onslaught of encores. Thanks for all the compliments especially to
the special ladies of the night.
19th August - The Blackhorse, Kingswood,
Bristol
It's always a treat to play here and the band kranked it up a whole notch to please
to crowd. As they like their punk tunes here a version of the Buzzcocks, Ever Fallen In Love was thrown into the pot and even
Big Martin was seen dancing to Swords Of A Thousand Men, although we can't prove it as the witness has skipped the country.
13th August - The Farriers Arms,
Fishponds, Bristol
This was originally due to be an outdoor do but as usual the sun let us down and the
chaps had to set up inside. So What? This was a storming gig and not even the afternoons football stopped people coming out
for some hard rockin'. Glod bless you allllllllllllllllllllll !!!!!!!!!!!!
12th August - The Kings Arms, Bath
The only decent venue in Bath and they welcomed the band back with open arms. Even he
usual curfew restrictions didn't stop the crowd shouting for more and they got it.
This gig was
for the first night at “The Harley-Davidson Club Somerset” held in Minehead. With plenty of V Twin throbbing as
owners arrived to pitch their tents the band kicked off with a powerful first set. Once the sun dropped out of sight the place
was full of rock hungry animals ready for the second set and they didn’t disappoint. One animated member of the audience
managed to break their Achilles tendon (OUCH) whilst flinging themselves about and we understand that they’re now recovering
with their feet up. Special thanks to Paul Dickinson for booking the band and with a promise of a re-booking next year they
hope to become a regular slot. Superb sound tonight courtesy of Top rockin set
and crowd tonight. A slow start due to a local wedding but once the sounds where heard, punters from afar felt the need to
leave their local and cram into the Farriers. If anyone was wondering why the drum kit was covered in string it was due to
Leakys new blower fan created such a storm it had to lashed to the stage with rope to stop it blowing away. Rocktastic! A last minute booking to help out a good cause led to some impressive
head banging by one member of the audience and Bass Face eating a bag of Pork Scratchings rather than his regular Salt and
Vinegar crisps. Once everybody
had recovered from the FA Cup final they turned up tonight to see what all the fuss is about. They travelled far and wide,
nearly as far as the other end of After an unusually day of blue skies and a strange glowing disc plain to see brought people out
ready to rock and that's just what they did. Some impressive head banging from one group of lads, who I'm sure will go far,
probably all the way to the chiropractors, but good for them. This is first time in "That’s magnificent" said a man. "Why thank you" said a different man. "By the way. What’s the band like" said the first man followed by a long zipping
sound. After a lot of scratching and swearing, followed by a thud the different man
said "They're excellent. They've played a lot of songs that I haven't heard for years, which makes a pleasant change" "That's good then" said the first man. True story. You can't make stuff like this up. Apparently. Tonight people travelled far and wide to see the band. Some as far as Yate. For
their troubles they got to witness the extravaganza that can now be expected from these lads and with the need for high octane
rock sets the pace for this leg of their tour. A superb night at the
Cat. The crowd had the band hoiking out 5 encores and even then had to be beaten back with thorny twigs to allow everyone
to go home. The pub is has gained fame for it’s quality live music but more importantly for it’s Black Rat cider,
which takes away all co-ordination from the legs making the drinkers formidable dancers. Fred Astair eat your heart out………….. Great night at The Black
Horse tonight and knowing their crowd the lads up’d the Punk balance of the set to bring satisfaction to all. Dancing, jumping around, wearing kilts. Apparently The calls for more were endless tonight, although the band had only played
half of Jailbreak for their sound check the calls for more were endless, endless I say. A circle is endless but unlike and
Cumberland Ring Sausage does not contain any special herbs. It had to be said…….. Well worth starting later at this venue. After about 10 o’clock it’s
packed and raring to go. The band kicked of hard and played flawlessly, which I'm told surprised them so much that one nearly
had the vapours. Whatever they are. They like their
hard rockin’ here. This is defiantly the place to plunder the classic rock / metal back catalogue and the reception
means a guaranteed second appearance later this year. Yet again Leaky was besieged by adoring fans. It must be his musty odour………. A lady showed Leaky
her bosoms. Will he ever be the same? |
